Anthony Tresselt
Program Developer & Leadership Facilitator
“Leadership is a journey lacking a final destination. A series of crest and trail, ebb and flow, loss and win. In this way leadership mirrors life. This is why we must lead. This is why we must first know ourselves before we can lead others.”
Tony’s Leadership Journey
Anthony Tresselt's leadership journey began in the Boy Scouts, where he achieved his Eagle Scout. After high school, he joined the Army, serving as a combat engineer in Germany and in the first Persian Gulf war. Upon leaving the Army, he joined his family's tree care business, Arborist Enterprises. Throughout his tenure there, he moved into positions of increasing leadership responsibility. He began to recognize that there was an urgent need for improved safety and skill training throughout the arboricultural industry as a whole.
This led him to seek opportunities to educate others in the tree care industry. He is a lead instructor with Arboriculture Canada Training and Education. Through them, as a part of an amazing team of instructors, he travels North America helping spread the word of safe, efficient arboriculture. He is a certified arborist, arboricultural safety consultant, trainer and student of arboriculture and tree climbing.
Anthony also competed in tree climbing competitions for twelve years. Currently retired as a competitor, he helps organize and run many tree climbing competitions including a twenty one year involvement with the International Society of Arboriculture’s International Tree Climbing Competition (ITCC).
Tony has published two novels set in the world of arboriculture. He is the mastermind behind the blog Gravitationalanarchy.com. He is also a regular contributor to several arboricultural trade magazines.
Anthony lives in Pennsylvania with his wonderful wife (who wrote this bio), adorable daughter, one dog, one cat. He awakes each morning, puts his pants on one leg at a time and faces each new day with equal amounts of aplomb and internal panic. Such is the dichotomy of a tree guy that writes struggling to be a writer that does tree work.
Helping Others Reach Their Leadership Potential
I knew to share my leadership philosophy with the world I would need to reinvent myself, my worldview. I would need to hone and refine all my skills and learn new ones on the way. I actively do this daily.
I look forward to helping people to discover and define their values, to use these to guide their leadership journey, their lives.
